Hot! Miami Dolphins Matt Moore Has Sore Ribs; Vontae Davis Misses Practice

Despite suffering bruised ribs against Denver on Sunday, quarterback Matt Moore is "taking a ton of the work" in practice this week, according to coach Tony Sparano.

Moore has taken a lot of hits since taking over for an injured Chad Henne, as he has been sacked eight times in his two starts this season. But the injury is not expected to keep Moore out of Sunday's contest in New York.

If the injury does flare up during the game, quarterback J.P. Losman, who was signed on Tuesday, will need to be ready to step in immediately.

"J.P. is taking probably more than Matt did when Chad was here, only because he's new and we're trying to get him involved here," Sparano said.

Starting cornerback Vontae Davis missed his second consecutive practice Thursday because of a nagging hamstring injury, which has been bothering him for the past month.

The injury has already forced Davis to miss two games this season.

Offensive linemen Marc Colombo (knee) and Richie Incognito (ankle), and running back Daniel Thomas (hamstring) were limited in Thursday's practice after resting their injuries on Wednesday.
