Banana Republic is gearing up for the upcoming release of "Anna Karenina" with a capsule collection curated by costume designer Jacqueline Durran and inspired by the movie's elegant 19th-century European style.
Women will have 56 pieces to choose from, including faux fur stoles, beaded clutches, dresses, skirts and wool capes. For men, the line carries 20 pieces, such as a wool double-breasted coat, a wool houndstooth top coat and pants and jackets.
It arrives today in stores and online at Narciso Rodriguez line for Kohl's will roll out Nov. 7. Expect sleek, contemporary looks with lots of colorblocking and some prints. Get a preview at . Barneys and Disney responded with a joint statement:

Kate Spade to release new lifestyle line: For fashionistas who are fans of Kate Spade New York but wish it included more casual offerings at lower prices, Kate Spade Saturday will sell weekend-friendly outfits and accessories for the 20s and 30s crowd, plus home goods and beauty selections, at a fraction of the prices of the New York label. Look for it next spring in the United States for prices ranging from about $25 to $130-plus.
U.S. Department of Labor subpoenas Forever 21: The fast-fashion retailer is in the news and not for its remarkably low prices and ever-changing stock of young adult fashions. This time, it's for failing to provide the U.S. Department of Labor paperwork about labor practices related to its clothing contractors and manufactures. The documents were requested after "sweatshop conditions" were suspected by investigators.
"When companies like Forever 21 refuse to comply with subpoenas, they demonstrate a clear disregard for the law, and the Labor Department will use all enforcement tools available to recover workers' wages and hold employers accountable," said Ruben Rosalez, regional administrator for the U.S. Labor Department's West division.
Starbucks gift cards, NYC MetroCards get fashion makeovers: Apparently people aren't the only ones who change up their looks on occasion. Starbucks and New York City's Metropolitan Transit Authority are giving their respective gift and MetroCards a style boost. The Gap has unveiled 125,000 MetroCards with a navy blue background and the words "Be Bright NYC," a nod to the retailer's "Be Bright" clothing campaign.
Starbucks will greet the holidays with a line of limited-edition gift cards designed by Rodarte. Look for them in mid-November.
